Description
When sending a job to the Allen Datagraph Plotter via AllenCAD, the plotter will only cut 1” squares.
Cause
Resolution
Allen Datagraph (ADSI) has determined the cause of the issue and has released a patched version of their Cutter Driver that when installed, resolves the issue. The driver can be downloaded here and more information can be found at: https://allendatagraph.com/print-driver-issues-due-windows-update
ADSI has found a workaround for this issue until a permanent resolution is complete. Uninstalling the conflicting Windows Update on the PC and installing the cutter driver (required on some PCs) should restore functionality.
NOTE: Automatically or manually running Windows Updates after implementing the workaround will result in the same behavior.
NOTE: Windows 11 does not have a 100% success rate at the moment. If it does not work on the PC, a permanent resolution from ADSI will be required.
- Click Start > Settings
- Click Update & Security > Windows Update
- Click View Update history
- Click Uninstall Updates
- Click Uninstall next to Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5039212)
- Once uninstalled, click Start > Power > Restart
- Send a job to the plotter to verify the workaround was successful.
- If not, reinstall the Cutter Driver: https://support.laserproductsus.com/allen-datagraph-directcut-printer-driver-installation
- Click Start > Settings
- Click Windows Update
- Click Update history
- Click Uninstall Updates
- Click Uninstall next to Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5039212)
- Once uninstalled, click Start > Power > Restart
- Send a job to the plotter to verify the workaround was successful.
