Description
While installing .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), the following error appears
Error: Windows couldn’t complete the requested changes. Error Code 0x800F0954
Cause
The Windows Update service has failed and needs to be restarted.
Resolution
- Right-click
- Type regedit.exe > OK
- Navigate to the following registry key:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
- In the right-pane, if the value named UseWUServer exists, set its data = 0
- Exit the Registry Editor.
- Restart the PC.
